Aqua-Pilates is an exciting 45-minute group exercise class that challenges and strengthens the body based on the principles of Pilates integrated with the resistive and buoyant forces of the water.
The class is designed to help increase:
- Muscular Strength
- Core development
- Stability, and
Aqua Pilates is for people who:
- are comfortable standing in chest-deep water
- are functionally independent, and
- are able to use stairs to enter and exit the pool
Participants are required to bring their own towel and swimsuit. Dressing and changing areas are provided and showers are available for a quick rinse after the class.
Aqua Pilates is taught by Anne Pringle-Burnell, expert and co-developer of the Aqua Pilates program.
All participants are encouraged to consult with their physician before beginning this or any new exercise program.
