How are you able to offer programs for free when most local Special Recreation Associations charge fees to participate in their programs?

We are very fortunate to be supported by a number of generous organizations including: Chicago Blackhawk Charities and Cubs Care. In addition, the RIC Women's Board and the John Dolan Golf Challenge help to support our programs.

Visit our Community Partner and Sponsor page for a complete list of sponsors and community partners that contribute to the success of our programs.

If I practice with one of your sports teams, will I get to travel to competitions?

Membership Questions

How much does it cost to join the Fitness Center or the Sports Program?

Joining the RIC Adaptive Sports and Fitness Program fitness center requires a one-time only $35 initiation fee to join the program. The fee must accompany the medical form for it to be processed.

Once an applicant has paid their initiation fee and their application has been approved, the member will receive an initial evaluation to determine the correct exercise prescription and a second one-on-one appointment with one of our professional fitness staff to acquaint the member with the equipment in the fitness center.

There is still no monthly charge for the fitness facility. However, there is a yearly maintenance fee that helps us with maintaining the equipment and facility. The maintenance fee is due from September 1st of each year through the last business day in December. Maintenance fees paid after January 1 and later incur a $10 late charge.

For more information, visit the membership page.

Do I need to be an RIC outpatient or a former RIC patient to join the program?
