Mechanical Shop

The Mechanical Shop is staffed by mechanical engineering support and an expert machinist with many years of experience. Fabrication capabilities include a fully computerized milling machine (CNC) and welding capabilities. Included within the Shop is a comprehensive Student/Staff Shop that houses a manual vertical milling machine with a digital readout. The Mechanical Shop can work from your prints or help you with the design process and turn rough hand sketches into 3D CAD models. These models can be verified, allowing changes to be made before parts are machined, saving you time and money. Work estimates are provided with competitive rates. The Shop can tackle tough problems, and respond quickly to meet your needs.

  • 9"x 42" Vertical Manual Mill
  • Tool Room Precision Lathe
  • Vertical and Horizontal Band Saw
  • Bench Grinder and Sander
  • 8" Buffing wheel
  • 6"x 48" Belt & 12" Disc Finishing Machine
  • Abrasive Blast Cabinet
  • 230v Tig Welder (steel, stainless steel, aluminum)
  • Bar Bender
  • Arbor press

Also available is an assortment of hand, power and measuring tools, small mechanical components, an assortment of hardware, fasteners and raw material.
