About RIC Research
The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago's (RIC) Searle Rehabilitation Research Center conducts the largest physical rehabilitation research effort in the world. Research is an essential part of RIC's mission: to help people with disabilities gain as independent and fulfilling life possible. By investing our resources in research we know that we are offering our patients the best rehabilitation care possible. Currently, there are over 200 research projects underway, funded by over $12 million in generous donations from both private and public supporters.

Our objectives are to discover practical solutions for today, and to provide the promise of hope tomorrow for people with physical disabilities. In a culture of value and respect, we will advance the state of the science, promote its application to patient care and unselfishly share our knowledge and expertise, so that people with disabilities from around the world may achieve the best life possible.
RIC is the academic home and main clinical partner of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine (opens new window). This partnership provides an academic framework for RIC's research efforts. A range of researchers are supported through this partnership, including post-doctoral researchers, pre-doctoral research graduates, physicians, residents and other clinical fellows.
