Can Neural Adaptation after Severe Brain Injury be Facilitated?

Objective

To determine whether neural responses elicited with familiar vocal stimulation improve neurobehavioral outcomes and/or elicit activation in expected regions; To examine the relationship between neurobehavioral and neurophysiological responses to high doses of familiar vocal stimulation during coma recovery.

How to Participate

Persons > 18 years of age with severe traumatic brain injury who have been unconscious > 28 days consecutively and are within 1 year post the date of injury.
