Hand Rehabilitation Study Using a Virtual Keyboard For stroke survivors

Objective

This study to investigate the use of a virtual keyboard and pneumatic assisted glove to improve dexterity in a hand affected by stroke. Subjects will use the virtual keyboard or receive traditional Occupational Therapy, both focused on dexterity in the affected hand.

 

The study will take place in the Hand Rehabilitation Lab located on the 13th floor of RIC. You may participate in up to 21 training sessions and 3 evaluation sessions. Each session lasts approximately 90 minutes.

How to Participate
  • Have had one stroke at least six months ago
  • At least 18 years old
  • Able to attend treatments at RIC 21 times over a six week period

 

Compensation  Participants will receive $20 for each session (up to 21 visits).
