Lubiprostone (Amitiza) Compared to Standard Care in the Treatment of Postoperative Opioid-Induced Constipation

Objective

The primary objective of this randomized controlled trial is to evaluate the efficacy of lubiprostone (Amitiza) compared to standard treatment with  Senokot for opioid-related constipation in adults hospitalized in an acute inpatient rehabilitation setting following orthopedic surgery.

How to Participate

Adults admitted to RIC following orthopedic procedures who require opioids for pain control and who are experiencing symptoms of constipation.
