Kinesio Taping versus Tubular Bandaging for Lower Extremity Edema

Objective

The purpose of this study is to compare the reduction in lower extremity edema achieved by using either kinesio tape or tubular bandage.

How to Participate

Inclusion criteria

  • RIC inpatients
  • 18 years of age or older
  • English as the primary language
  • Unilateral or bilateral lower extremity edema

Exclusion criteria

  • Patients with a deep venous thrombosis (DVT), cellulitis, untreated CHF, or active cellulitis will not be allowed in the study as these are patients are not currently eligible for any interventions
  • Patients with latex allergies
  • Cognitive impairment
