Intelligent Arm Stretching Using a Portable Robot

Objective

The purpose of this research study is to treat stiff arms by stretching it using a portable robot with intelligent control and to evaluate the changes caused by the spasticity/contracture and changes induced by the stretching in both patients with spasticity and in healthy subjects.

How to Participate

Individuals who are:

  • 3 months to 5 years post stroke with hemiparisis on either the right or left side
  • Can sit for 2 hours
  • Able to generate some force by arm muscles on both sides
