The National Database involves the collection of rehabilitation and follow-up data on spinal cord injury (SCI) patients who receive care at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago following a traumatic SCI injury. Used to track the long-term consequences of SCI, the national database involves gathering information from participants’ medical charts and a follow-up interview at one year post-injury, then every five years.
