Robot Aided Rehabilitation: Evaluating Arm and Hand Impairment from Acute to Chronic Stroke

Objective

To examine neuromechanical properties throughout the entire upper extremity in stroke survivors over a period of 6 months and throughout the progression from the acute to the subacute to the chronic phases of recovery.

Who Can Participate

Inclusion:

  1. Had first stroke less than 1 month prior to enrollment
  2. Some impairment of the arm and hand

Exclusion:

  1. Apraxia
  2. Unrelated musculoskeletal injuries on the affected side
