Center for Rehabilitation Outcomes Research (CROR)

The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC) has gained widespread recognition for its research in outcome studies related to measuring the impact of medical rehabilitation over the long term in patients with disabilities. The importance placed on outcome studies in medical rehabilitation has grown dramatically in recent years as clinicians and researchers have been required to find cost-effective means of providing patient care. At RIC, the Center for Rehabilitation Outcomes Research (CROR) is responsible for conducting outcomes research.

CROR and Collaborators Awarded Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) Grant by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) 

CROR and collaborators from Northwestern University, Kessler Foundation Research Center, Washington University, University of Illinois-Chicago, and University of Washington have been awarded the RRTC on Improving Measurement of Medical Rehabilitation Outcomes.  Read more about this exciting collaboration.

CROR's Anne Deutsch Awarded RIC's 35th Annual Magnuson Award

On October 9, CROR research scientist Anne Deutsch was awarded RIC's Magnuson Award which recognizes a manager whose leadership contributes to ensuring the highest quality of patient care. Anne's work in outcomes research consistently demonstrates the RIC Values of hope, compassion, discovery, collaboration and commitment to excellence beyond the scope of her immediate responsibility.  Congratulations, Anne!  To read more about Anne click here

CROR News & Updates:

  • Linda Ehrlich-Jones, PhD, RN, clinical research scientist in RIC’s Center for Rehabilitation Outcomes Research, was selected to be part of the strategic planning committee for the American College of Rheumatology (ACR), announced in the Rheumatology Newsletter this month. As a member of the committee, Linda will take part in evaluating the organization’s strengths and weaknesses to advance the specialty of rheumatology.  Congratulations, Linda!
  •  Dr. Heinemann has been invited to serve on the Institute of Medicine (IOM) Standing Committee to Assist Social Security on Disability Issues. The standing committee will guide the selection and refinement of a series of focused topics to be examined through studies or workshops conducted by separately appointed IOM ad hoc committees.
