What Our Patients Say...
Unsolicited comments from former patients
Dear Kathleen [Kathleen Wood*],
You may or may not remember me, but I was a patient of yours about two years ago. I was troubled by lower back pain that had been bothering me chronically for the better part of 15 years. My back would often “give out” after only moderate exertion or exercise, and often force me to be bed ridden for a day or two after that.
At the recommendation of Dr. Joel Press, I began my physical therapy sessions with you, and saw you weekly for a couple of months. Following our therapy session, I continued my stretches and exercises for several months after that, and even began seeing a personal trainer to focus on further strengthening my back.
"a great difference in my life"
...it has been 2 years since I’ve “thrown my back out” and been bed ridden for a couple of days. This used to occur every few months prior to my therapy ... it is nice to actually feel my chronological age again ... you have made a great difference in my life!
I was just reflecting on the fact that I’ve been pain free since then. It has been about a year since I stopped seeing my personal trainer and stopped regularly doing stretches and exercises … but the back still feels great.
If you remember, one of the hardest parts of my back problems was my inability to pick up my twins who were about a year old when I was in therapy. Today I pick them up (both 3-yrs old and 35–40 lbs) without having to think about it. I was also able to get through this winter regularly shoveling snow without throwing out my back (second winter in a row that I’ve done this). In fact, I think it has been 2 years since I’ve “thrown my back out” and been bed ridden for a couple of days. This used to occur every few months prior to my therapy.
I wanted to take a moment to send a quick e-mail and express my gratitude for the freedom and vitality that your care has allowed back into my life. It is wonderful to no longer be thinking … ”Oh, I shouldn’t do that because of my back.”
In short, it is nice to actually feel my chronological age again and not feel 15 years older! Thank you for your training, and know that you have made a great difference in my life!
With sincere appreciation...
