Personal Services for Patients
At the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC) we offer a number of services designed to help our patients feel at home.
Chaplaincy Services
Your stay at RIC will not only be a period of progress, but also a time of unusual challenges— physical, emotional and spiritual. RIC has chaplains on staff to offer support to patients and families. To reach the chaplaincy office, please call 312-238-1200. The chapel, located on the South Mezzanine level of RIC's Flagship Hospital in Chicago, is always open for patients and families who wish to pray, meditate or find solitude for reflection.
Dining Service
Personal Choice Dining
RIC developed Personal Choice Dining to give you greater control over your meal selections. Each day, a member of the Food and Nutrition Department's Host Team will visit you, tell you about your menu options (based on the specific diet prescribed by your physician) and take your order. At meal time, a Host Team member is available to assemble your tray, deliver it to you and help you set up your bed table or open containers. If your physician or dietitian prescribes snacks for you between meals, a member of the Host Team will prepare them and deliver them to your room at the appropriate time.
If you have a family member or friend who wishes to dine with you, we have guest meals available for purchase. These meals may be ordered through members of the Host Team and paid for in the Red Tomato Café, located on the 2nd floor of RIC's Flagship Hospital in Chicago.
