Transplant

The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC) is a regional center for managing the recovery and physical rehabilitation of transplant patients, including heart, lung, liver and kidney. Clinical and nursing staff are educated in monitoring post-transplant medications and recognizing warning signs for organ rejection. Along with physical rehabilitation to rebuild the endurance and abilities lost while waiting for transplant surgery, our comprehensive program provides psychological support to help the patient and family adjust to any long-term impairment, as well as cope with the stress that accompanies the transplant experience.

Comprehensive transplant rehabilitation services are available at several RIC locations. For more information, call our Toll Free Referral and Information Line: 1-800-354-REHAB (7342), or visit the locations page of our Web site.
