The RIC Adapted Golf Program meets weekly from April - October at the Diversey Driving Range in Chicago on Monday evenings. During the summer, the RIC Adapted Golf Program also uses the Shouth Shore Golf Course on Thursday mornings. More experienced golfers will have the opportunity to golf at other local regulation 18 hole courses.
Instruction is available for beginning, intermediate and advanced players who have a physical disability. There is no cost to participate in the RIC Adapted Golf Program, however all golfers must have a current medical form registered with the RIC Sports Program.
The RIC Adapted Golf Program has received grants from the United States Golf Association (USGA) and the Chicago District Golf Association to purchase golf clubs, accessible golf carts, a trailer and green fees. The grant is part of the USGA's "For the Good of the Game" initiative - a $50 million commitment over the next ten years to make the game of golf more affordable and accessible.
