Discover SCUBA

“As a diver you are weightless and can move in all
directions. You approach the freedom of a bird as
you move in three dimensions in a fluid environment.”

Water is an environment where people with and without disabilities can “fly” side-by-side. RIC Sports and the Diveheart Foundation (opens in new window) offer people with physical disabilities the opportunity to explore water through scuba diving. Participants learn the foundations of scuba diving and practice the skills necessary to earn an open water diving certification. Learning scuba fosters independence and self-esteem while opening up the doors to the wonders of the world’s oceans.
