Supported in part by the Blackhawks Charities (opens in new window), a fund of the McCormick Tribune Foundation (opens in new window), the team includes a core group of players from the greater Chicago-area and several independent players from different parts of the country.
The RIC Blackhawks' season begins in September and ends in April. The RIC Blackhawks is a member team of the United States Sled Hockey Association (USSHA) (opens in new window) and participates in competitions held throughout the United States and Canada.
Sled hockey has both similarities and differences to the game of ambulatory hockey. For more information, download a sled hockey factsheet.
