Along with recovery from the emotional trauma or loss resulting from a severe burn, a comprehensive rehabilitation program can help patients regain function, skills and a sense of well being. The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago's (RIC) burn rehabilitation team develops treatment plans based upon the patient's personal goals, ability to participate in therapy and progress made during recovery. Individual treatment plans may incorporate splinting, hydrotherapy and chronic pain management therapy.
