The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC) provides rehabilitation services for people with physical deficits as a direct result of a spinal cord tumor—regardless of whether the patient is post-surgical or post-discharge from acute care.
Treatment goals address therapies to support ambulation and transfers, as well as activities of daily living, which include bowel and bladder continence. Service capabilities range from medically complex inpatient through outpatient. RIC's main campus works closely with specialists from the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University at Northwestern Memorial Hospital to coordinate treatment for patients with multiple medical needs such as radiation and other oncology services.
Comprehensive spine tumor rehabilitation services are offered at several RIC locations. For more information, call our Toll Free Referral and Information Line: 1-800-354-REHAB (7342) or visit the locations page of our Web site.
