Restoring physical, intellectual communicative, psychosocial and vocational skills is the focus of RIC's brain injury rehabilitation program. The therapy format is structured to provide appropriate stimulation and to increase attention span.

RIC's secure inpatient unit is specially designed to promote progress and offer a safe, controlled environment for the special needs of brain injury patients. In addition to inpatient care, patients also have access to day rehabilitation and outpatient centers as their therapy progresses

The AMiCouS program - The first-of-its-kind program in the nation designed specifically to assess brain injured patients in the minimally conscious state. The program aims to identify the best next steps early on and assist in making a smooth transition to the next phase of care, whether that is at home with loved ones or in a skilled care setting. The Therapeutic Day - This program provides structured, graded activities to facilitate progress toward rehabilitation goals. Each program is customized to meet the specific needs of the patient and provides patients and families with a template that can be revised and carried over to the next setting at discharge. Examples of therapeutic day program activities include assignments from therapists, independent exercises, leisure activities and rest breaks.

A Team Approach -Physical and occupational therapists and speech language pathologists work individually and together to help each patient address the unique effects of a brain injury.

Circle of Caring - RIC's Circle of Caring program supports family members of individuals with brain injury through the rehabilitation process and beyond.

RIC’s specialized services help individuals realize their full potential

Returning to the community, family and everyday life

RIC's brain injury medicine and rehabilitation program promotes improved memory and cognitive skills as well as the patient's ability to transfer both physical and intellectual skills from the hospital setting to real life. RIC patients participate in community re-entry groups to strengthen daily living and social interaction skills while initiating a healthy lifestyle through group leisure activities.
