Aphasia is a disorder that causes an impairment in speech and language abilities. Aphasia disorders result from damage to portions of the brain responsible for language. Aphasia commonly occurs due to brain damage from a head injury or stroke. RIC provides a month long Aphasia intensive therapy program, increasing the possibility of improved communication. RIC’s Center for Aphasia Research and Treatment also conducts research investigating novel and cutting-edge treatments for Aphasia.
