RIC was the first rehabilitation hospital in the country to be recognized as a Nursing Magnet hospital in 2005… it’s time to do it again! Through the 2009 Magnet Redesignation process, we are seeking to once again demonstrate that rehabilitation nursing excellence contributes to better outcomes for our patients.
The term “Magnet” originates from American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) research that identified certain “magnetic” hospitals with exceptional nurse recruiting and retention. The research found that the characteristics these institutions shared went beyond exceptional nursing – organizational excellence played a huge part.
According to the ANCC, only “6.2% of all health care organizations in the United States have achieved ANCC Magnet Recognition® status.” Additionally, designation as a Nurse Magnet facility contributes to U.S.News & World Report’s selection of "America 's Best Hospitals."
ANCC, who operates the Magnet Recognition Program®, is seeking input from RIC patients, visitors and employees to learn more about RIC. Please take a moment to offer feedback as we undergo this process – the results of which offer RIC patients the utmost confidence in quality patient care, nursing excellence and innovation. Details about how to provide feedback directly to ANCC are included in the below notice from ANCC.
Thanks for participating!
