The Women's Board

Celebrating 51 Years

The Women's Board was founded in 1960. Since that time, it has provided major funding for the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago's (RIC) Charity Care Fund and has made significant annual contributions to many special programs including:

• The Pediatric/Adolescent Rehabilitation Program
• LIFE Center
• The Virginia Wadsworth Wirtz Sports Program
• Women with Disabilities Center
• Therapeutic Recreation Department
• Galvin Health and Fitness Center
• Vocational Rehabilitation
• Research Department

The Women’s Board comprises nearly 100 civic-minded members who through fundraising and volunteerism have made a strong commitment to supporting RIC’s vision of Advancing Human Ability^TM through science and research and its mission of providing the highest quality patient care, research and education.

14th Annual Private Preview Party for The Merchandise Mart International Antiques Fair^TM

Event chairs Mary Arnberg and Lori Nerenberg hosted the annual Women's Board Private Preview Party for The Merchandise Mart International Antiques Fair™ on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the historic Chicago Merchandise Mart.

This exclusive event offers the first viewing of exhibits from more than 100 world-class international antiques and fine arts dealers. Proceeds support special programs and services at RIC. Guests enjoy sumptuous buffets, refreshments and the opportunity to enjoy some of Chicago's best designers.

Medicine Ball 2011: A Night in Old Shanghai

Event chairs Karie Katz and Christine Nappo hosted the Women’s Board annual Medicine Ball on Friday, May 6, 2011 at The Peninsula Chicago. In the spirit of its 10^th anniversary, The Peninsula Chicago partnered with RIC to provide significant underwriting support to the 2011 Medicine Ball. Event proceeds support RIC’s innovative new Ability Lab, special programs and services at RIC, and the Women’s Board’s commitment to the new RIC Research Hospital.
