The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago Honors Aon Corp. For Leadership in Advancing Employment Opportunities for People With Disabilities

December 7, 2006

The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC) today awarded the 10th Annual Henry B. Betts, M.D., Employment Advocacy Award to Aon Corp. for its global commitment to the employment of people with disabilities. This annual award is given to individuals or organizations that have made significant contributions to promote employment for people with disabilities through job training, job placement or advocacy efforts.

The award is named after the past President, CEO and Medical Director of RIC who has promoted advocacy for people with disabilities throughout Chicago and the world for more than 40 years.

Corbette S. Doyle, named Aon's first global Chief Diversity Officer in February 2006 accepted the award on the company's behalf for its support of vocational training and employment of adults with disabilities. In this role, Doyle is dedicated to improving the diversity of the company's workforce.

"I am honored to receive this award on Aon's behalf," she said. "One of Aon's primary business goals is to become the destination of choice for the industry's best talent. Achieving that end requires a commitment to work environments that allow that talent to succeed. Advocating on behalf of disabled employees around the world is a key component of that strategy."

Chicago-based Aon Corp. is the world's largest insurance brokerage firm with more than $10 billion in annual revenues operating from 500 offices in more than 120 countries. The company has created programs including Aon's "People With Disabilities Business Networking Group," which has active chapters across the nation and will be expanded to other parts of the globe later next year.

"Aon and RIC share a common mission to help make the world a better place for people with disabilities," said Joanne C. Smith, M.D., president and CEO of RIC. "With a strong commitment to fostering diversity, it's our honor to recognize Aon's civic leadership in advancing employment opportunities on a global scale."

Aon has actively served on The Business Advisory Team at RIC since 2000, in addition to the Executive Committee of the Chicagoland Business Leadership Network.
