Biography

Dr. Patel completed her undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Chicago with one year of training focusing on Health Economics and Social Policy at the London School of Economics. She later earned her medical degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Master of Public Health degree in Health Care Management and Policy at the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Patel has served as a Congressional Health Fellow on Capitol Hill and has been active in health policy work at the national, state, and city levels. She completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC), where she served as chief resident. Dr. Patel specializes in the area of brain injury medicine and rehabilitation, having completed a fellowship in this sub-specialty at RIC.
