Nursing Spectrum Publishes Article by RIC Nurse
Kurt Butzbach, a nurse working with brain injury patients at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago’s flagship hospital, can add published author to his list of credentials. The Dec. 17 issue of Nursing Spectrum magazine features an article Kurt wrote about his experience as a brain injury patient himself, leading him to a career in nursing in general and with RIC specifically.
Kurt suffered a traumatic brain injury more than two decades ago in an accident on the job at a steel fabrication shop. After his recovery, Kurt then decided to go back to school to become a nurse after having been inspired by the nurses and therapists who worked with him and helped him recover his health.
Kurt writes about his experiences and how his personal history informs his work at RIC. You can follow this link to read the full article (opens a new window).
