This Guy Is An Athlete…

WINNETKA – After he was paralyzed in a biking accident and told he would never walk again, Mark Stephan of Winnetka did more than walk. He climbed to top the of the Willis Tower and biked across the United States, raising over $1 million for the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC), which was instrumental in his progress. Stephan this month is being honored by The Volunteer Center for his contributions to RIC.

“When you volunteer it is amazing how much you get back in return,” Stephan told Daily North Shore. “It’s not about (me). It’s honoring all of the volunteers at RIC.”
