Acting Army Surgeon General Gail Pollock Visits RIC

Maj. Gen. Gale S. Pollock, R.N.,
will visit military patients at
RIC during the tour of the
hospital this week.

Maj. Gen. Gale S. Pollock, RN, acting Army Surgeon General and chief of the Army Nurse Corps, will visit U.S. Army Sgt. Eric Edmundson, who is being treated for a brain injury at RIC, and other military patients this week during a trip to Chicago to celebrate the 232nd birthday of the U.S. Army.

As the interim commander at Walter Reed Medical Center, Maj. Gen. Pollock will tour RIC’s inpatient rehabilitation units, visit with RIC’s Magnet-recognized nurses and gather data on RIC’s overall system of care that has been ranked the “#1  rehabilitation hospital in America,” by U.S. News & World Report every year since 1991.

In March, RIC was designated as a rehabilitation care provider for U.S. military personnel with severe injuries. RIC is honored to welcome Maj. Gen. Pollock and provide insight on its best-in-class rehabilitation services.
