Neighborhood Update: December 2013

Dear Neighbor,

We wanted to provide an update about the construction, particularly related to the placement of the core form on the site of the Ability Institute of RIC. The core form for our starter wall will be delivered to our site between Friday, December 20 and mid-January. The core form is built at an off-site location and then transported to our site in pieces, which will require some oversize loads reporting to our site. As with any vehicle hauling an oversize load, the Illinois Department of Transportation, in conjunction with the Illinois State Police and the City of Chicago Department of Transportation coordinate the routes used and the timing of each load.

We anticipate that the deliveries will be made with escort vehicles Monday through Saturday during regular work hours. The trucks will enter the site on Erie Street and exit onto Ontario Street. This process will not require any traffic or parking lane closures, nor will it involve delays beyond maneuvering the trucks into the work site. However, since you may notice the Illinois State Police escort vehicles with flashing lights, we wanted to keep you informed of this operation to allay any concerns.

We also wanted to take the opportunity to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season. Thank you for your cooperation related to the construction of the Ability Institute of RIC, which will help to revolutionize the field of rehabilitation medicine. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. All the best to you in 2014!

Thank You,

Melissa Hoffmann
