Support The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago
The support of the outside community is one of the main reasons that the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC) is recognized as a leading provider of rehabilitation care.
Because of the generosity and support from philanthropists, volunteers and research participants, RIC is able to continue to advance its medical mission while also offering a number of unique community services and providing charity care to those in need each year.
Philanthropy
RIC is a place where the remarkable is possible. A place where good things happen every day. RIC is proud to achieve excellence in all areas of our mission – patient care, research and the education of health professionals – with philanthropy contributing to each area.
The Institute is fortunate to benefit from the commitment and support of our community. Through this generosity, we are able to continually offer the nation's best rehabilitation services – ensuring we make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities.

Volunteering
You can make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities by volunteering with RIC.
Whether working directly with patients or behind the scenes, volunteers play an important role in RIC’s mission.
A variety of unique and rewarding volunteer opportunities are available at our many sites of care throughout the Chicago area, Southern Illinois and North central Indiana.

Research
RIC conducts more research than any other rehabilitation hospital in the world.
The Institute is committed to providing the highest quality rehabilitation – with the intent of minimizing disability and improving the quality of life – for people with disabilities. Research is instrumental in achieving these objectives: helping to provide discovery of new treatments, studying of the healing process and developing breakthrough technologies.
The research programs initiated at the Institute are focused on improving our knowledge of the mechanisms by which major illnesses result in particular disabilities, as well as the development of appropriate solutions to treat, minimize and even eliminate those disabilities.
Our research efforts are supported by generous donations from both private and public supporters and the individuals who participate in our research studies.
